Closing of FSPI CONFMAP – Consolidating the Future through Mastering the Deep Past

This project managed by IFRA in partnership with the French Embassy, helped developing and strengthening local expertise in prehistoric archaeology, paleo-sciences, and cultural management notably through the training of Kenyan students (mostly women from Turkana) in the field of archaeology and cultural tourism; the project is coming to an end after two years.
It also helped raising public awareness of Kenya’s prehistoric heritage by supporting prehistoric clubs in schools and by setting up an exhibition celebrating the tenth anniversary of the discovery of the oldest tools known to date. This exhibition (Turkana Tools – The Dawn of Technology) is currently visible at the Lodwar Museum.
IFRA through Marion Asego, managed this project throughout the two years.
