Seminar on “Rethinking Drought Management & Futures of Pastoralism in Kenya”
IFRA-Nairobi is pleased to invite you to our event “Rethinking Drought Management & Futures of Pastoralism in Kenya” on Tuesday 7th February, 2023 at our offices. The drought situation in the country remains critical in 22 of the 23 Arid and Semi-Arid counties due to the late onset and poor performance of the much-anticipated October to December 2022 short rains, coupled with four previous consecutive failed rainfall seasons.
This event aims to present and discuss strategies of resilience, the impact of infrastructural projects, irrigation schemes and land adjudication on drought management. T
here will be a Keynote Speech on “Pastoralist Resilience to Environmental Collapse in East Africa since 1500” by Professor Gufu Oba, Emeritus, Faculty of Landscape and Society (LANSAM), Norwegian University of Life Sciences. IFRA would be honoured by your presence.
To attend the event, please send an email to info@ifra-nairobi.net
