PhD student – Itinerant doctoral school in social sciences, University Cooperation Young Research Africa/Maghreb | Until December 15th, 2023

The sixth edition of the Itinerant Doctoral School (IDS) will take place in Dakar, Senegal, in April 2024, as part of the University Cooperation Project Young Research Africa/Maghreb (CUJRAM). It is organized by the Contemporary Maghreb Research Institute (IRMC), in partnership with the Research Institute for Development (IRD), the Fundamental Institute of Black Africa (IFAN) and Cheikh Anta-Diop University (UCAD). For this 6th edition, the EDI is entitled: “Ordinary (extra)changes? Events and Routines as Objects in the Social Sciences”. It will be dedicated to tools and methods for analyzing change in the social sciences.
The selected PhD students will follow a 10-day course that will alternate three main phases: conferences and round tables, a cycle «debrief and deepen» and finally, practical workshops («thesis in concrete» / «tools and methods»). Off days will also be organized, to question the intersections between arts and social sciences and to discover or deepen the ways in which research can also be done on, with and through alternative media to traditional academic channels.
The mobility and stay of the selected participants will be covered by the organizing institutions.
