Marta Perotti – Intern 2025

Marta Perotti is IFRA’s new intern and comes from Turin (Italy). She is a Master’s student in Political Science at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), specializing in comparative politics of Africa and the Middle East. Her research interests include urbanization and street politics, the sociology of work, artivism, the politics of land and the political economy of conflicts. In her first Master’s thesis, she analyzed the artistic work of Senegalese theater actors in the suburbs of Dakar, showing how their everyday practices and theater performances are profoundly social and political. For her second Master’s thesis, she plans to explore Kenyan postcolonial politics through the lens of activists and artists who participated in the GenZ protest movement.
During these months, she will support IFRA’s team by organizing events, managing IFRA’s communication platforms and providing research support.
