The National Museums of Kenya is hosting the “Turkana Tools: The Dawn of Technology” exhibition at the National Museum in Nairobi from December 2nd until February 28th 2022.

This exhibition is part of a project called CONFMAP (Consolidating the Future Through Mastering the Past) funded by the French Government.

The main objective of this project is to improve the access of marginalized populations (Women and Turkana specially) to higher education and palaeosciences, while increasing outreach for Kenya’s prehistoric archaeological heritage.

The exhibition will then travel to Kitale for three months before settling in Lodwar in Turkana.

We thank all our partners : Turkana Basin Institute, Turkana University College, West Turkana Paleo Project, West Turkana Archaeological Project, the French Embassy in Kenya and Somalia and CNRS as well as Prof Sonia Harmand and Dr Frederick Kyalo Manthi.
